WHO WE ARE?

OKENOS Diving Centre is reputed to be the largest diving facility on the Bay of Mandalia. Your host at Okenos diving is Umut Kasan Karabacili. OKENOS Diving Centre is a friendly run operation with over 10 years of diving services in this area and 9 years in Altinkum Didim.

Okenos Diving Centre is the one, and only PADI 5 STAR CENTRE and SSI SCUBA SCHOOL; Diving operator on the south-east coast of Turkey in Altinkum, Didim.

This spacious facility has been specifically designed with the diver and student in mind. The Dive School's dedicated facilities are very comprehensive, with the Marina Beach club, dry platform, changing facilities and showers, a shop-cafe with comfortable terrace.

To add to this already impressive list of amenities, the Okenos Scuba Centre has its own 200m long private beach making access to the house reef comfortable and easy.

The private Marina Beach Club is where the dive boat awaits you to whisk you off to the fascinating dive sites off Mandalia Bay. With all of these facilities at your disposal you can concentrate on enjoying a relaxing holiday.

OKENOS Scuba Centre is open all year round. From 9am till 9pm, 7 days a week you will be able to find one of our friendly staff to answer all of your questions. These opening hours allow the flexibility for check in/out.

You will find a steel boat and 2 fast boats in operation at Okenos Scuba Centre. The highly experienced crews guarantee to take you safely and comfortably to the dive sites.

All boats are equipped with the necessary safety equipment with international standards.

Our equipments include oxygen tanks, first-aid, and lifejackets.

Our rental equipment, which is serviced regularly in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations, guarantees a comfortable and safe diving experience. 50 complete sets of equipment are available at any given time. This also includes dedicated "Kids" diving equipment. All cylinders are available with a choice of DIN/INT connection. 12lt Cylinders for qualified divers and 10lt cylinders for beginners.

Try Dive for Beginners

If you have limited time to see the underwater world and you definitely want to experience this adventure than this is the best programme for you. This is a one dive introductory dive designed for beginners and available to every member of the family over the age of 10yrs old. Join the famous OKENOS Diving 'Try Dive' and experience the sensation of breathing underwater.

OKENOS Diving's fun and easy approach makes this a dive to remember, for the last 5 years literally thousands of our customers have told us that it was the best day of their holiday, we guarantee you will just love it! The Okenos Try Diving sessions are conducted by one of our professional instructors. (Marina Beach Club and Dive Education Centre at 3rd beach). Sit back and enjoy the sun, the crystal clear calm and shallow waters of our beautiful education bay.

All the dives begin in waist deep water with a maximum group size of 2 students to 1 Instructor.

The Dive education is in confined water and will last at least 15 minutes, you will be taken for an underwater tour, going to a maximum depth of 3-5 metres. During this time period you will feel just like an astronaut as you glide effortlessly and weightless through the water and hopefully catch a glimpse of Olly our resident octopus en route to playing games, have your photo taken and have plenty of time to enjoy the amazing thrill of breathing under the water! In total 30 minutes.

Equipment: Full scuba equipment.

Duration of the dive: Maximum 30 minutes in shallow water. You will be held onto by one of our instructors to a maximum depth of 3- 5 metres.

Free door to door transfer. You can have unforgettable memories to bring back as well as, if you like, photos of you underwater.

After the Dive:

Upon completion of your dive we will talk you through your next step. Should you book onto the next level course for PADI or SSI, not only will we refund your £25 / 30 € but, we will also give you your underwater pictures and Okenos T-shirt without charge if the course is booked on the same day.

Qualified Divers:

Get away from the crowds, dive into crystal clear waters and enjoy an amazing scenery of drop-offs, canyons, reefs and swim throughs.

Explore the Mandalia reefs in waters with visibility of 25m, experience the rich colourful marine life and watch the sun rays diving into the endless blue!

All dive sites are accessed by our dive boats NAUTILUS and NAUTICA.

Half of them are reefs and the rest is along the Camlik and Altinkum coastline.

Most of them are protected from the usual north stream Dives: During the dive each instructor leads up to 5 divers while most dives are multilevel in order for you to see and enjoy as much as possible.

All dives end with a safety stop and no dives are deeper than 30 meters. Average dive time is 35 minutes.

Rock formations give shelter to octopuses, moray eels, groupers and big shells.

On the rocks scorpion fish, starfish, nudibranch and tube worms are easy to see while clams and shells lay along the sandy bottom.

Canyons and swim throughs are covered with colourful sponges, corals and small holes which give home to crabs and lobsters.

Schools of small colourful fish swim around the rocks while tunas, turtles, jack fish and stingrays make their appearance often from the blue.
