Virtually every major city in Turkey has an airport and Turkish Airlines offers nationwide and international services. Most flights connect through Istanbul or Ankara, both of which have domestic and international terminals. Unfortunately, Didim does not have an airport but, airports that are close to Didim are Bodrum, Izmir and Dalaman. |
Closest airport to Didim / Altinkum is the Milas-Bodrum airport which is 90km from Didim. Other airports are: Izmir Adnan Menderes (International) Airport - 140km and Dalaman (Mugla) Airport - 290km. |
It is advised that if you book a hotel to ask about your airport transfer. Many hotels offer pick-up services from airports. Another thing you can do is to contact or ask your travel agency to make sure you have an airport transfer. |

Many cruise ships, which sail around the Eastern Mediterranean, also dock in Turkey. Cruise ships arrive at customs entry points where it is easy to obtain a visa and satisfy entry requirements. Major ports are Istanbul, Izmir, Cesme, Kusadasi, Marmaris and Antalya. |
Ferry Lines between Turkey and the Greek Islands run between Marmaris - Rhodes, Bodrum - Kos, Kusadasi - Samos, Cesme - Chios and Ayvalik - Lesbos. These ferries run regularly during the months of April through October and reduced schedules in the winter months. The new Yacht-Harbour and Marina of Didim with a capacity of 600 boats is ready since May 2009. |

The extensive Turkish State Railways network connects to most major cities. On some trains, sleeping compartments are available. If you decide to come to Didim via the railway system, your direct route will be Istanbul - Izmir, then Izmir - Selcuk. Selcuk is 20 km away from Söke. There are trains running twice a day. Then, from the Söke bus station you can take a minibus, which leaves every 20 minutes, to Didim.
